News update, 04/06/01

Updates on the play might take longer now, as my current employer is.. Hmm.. "Restructuring" I guess. This means my free time might be better spent doing things like vamping my résumé, not this play. I'm sorry!

Updates on the play:
Regarding the music layout, some have criticized that the original layout was not quite adequate, so I'm in the midst of revamping it. I'm not happy with the way it is currently. Also, larger updates like story content (i.e. finishing the fantasy ending) have been put off in lieu of pursuing aesthetic interests like changing the music layout and adding more of my homemade bitmaps. A real artist, pseudonymed Rima Flammarion, will be contributing the final artwork on the piece.. Until then, you'll have to put up with my chickenscratch. ^^;;
Her work is really fantastic! Sorry, though, I don't have anything to show as an example at this time. Also, be on the lookout for new midi additions contributed by none other than Chiriko! ^^

There has also been an update to the Kamishibai viewer. There was also a problem with downloading the player from this site that I couldn't figure out, so I've removed the link. So, if you don't have the player, or the recent patch that fixed some crashing bugs, go to this page at Otaku World to download either the player or the patch.

Note: Be sure to turn OFF "validate file on load."
THIS IS A MUST!! IF YOU DO NOT TURN THIS FEATURE OFF, THE PLAYER WILL NOT UPLOAD THE PLAY!

Validate File on Load is a debugging feature for creators of any Kamishibai play. The error is that it does not want to display more than 32 animated bitmaps in one frame. However, if you have that feature turned off, the player actually WILL display that many frames on a single "page." This is why you MUST turn the feature off.

Warning: The play is still being developed, but available to download for entertainment already. It is in NO WAY finished, or anywhere near that!
