What is P'yongyang Grindz?
P'yongyang Grindz is North Korea's most extreme, radical, and popular online comic strip! It's subversive nature and hidden agendas for years slipped by the watchful eye of the North Korean government -- and still does to this day! While the concept of an online comic strip is not overly appealing to North Koreans, it is a delightful window into the North Korean regime. The author (wisely) writes under a pseudonym of "Kim Yong Il" (heh heh heh) to avoid being caught as well as to poke fun at Kim Jong Il -- however, all works are still sponsored and approved by the North Korean state for approval. This English translation, however, is translated with the sometimes subversive comments of the author also attached -- the English version of P'yongyang GrindZ!, available nowhere else, is nothing short of uncensored, no-holds-barred assault on the North Korean regime.
