このシングルは今春亡くなった友達ナタリアさんへの想いを綴った「手紙」。Ａ面は長い間親友であったトミーから、そしてB面はまだ出会って間もなかった私からの手紙です。限られた時間だと知っていたので、私たちは彼女の体力が許す限りいっときも無駄にすることなく濃い時間を過ごしました。歌詞にも書かれていますが、約束をするということが躊躇される中での彼女の唯一の約束が「いつか一緒に日本に桜を見に行こう」でした。この曲では短い間ながらも濃い貴重な時を共に過ごした彼女との思い出、そしてそれ故のせつなさ、またやりきれなさを歌っています。音での表現という点では、彼女を天国へと送り届ける天使達、また天国にいる彼女へ一番近いところまで手を伸ばすという意味合いを込め「できるだけ高くて使える音」ということでD６まで出しています。このメモをご覧になった方は「あぁ、そういうことだったんだな」と思って聴いてくだされば幸いです。
